Bike Jam 2008 and the Kelly Cup Criterium is Saturday in Baltimore

Baltimore, Md. – In observance of National Bike Month, Corrigan Sports Enterprises along with Lateral Stress Velo are putting on BikeJam 2008 on Saturday, May 24 beginning at 8 a.m. The event, now in its 10th year, will take place at beautiful Patterson Park in Baltimore, Md.
The main event of the day is The Kelly Cup Men’s Pro Race, which begins at 2:30 p.m. and is a 40-lap race around the park.
Prior to the men’s race is the women’s pro race also sponsored by Kelly and Associates Insurance Group.
Aside from the two main professional races, which are part of the National Racing Calendar, there will be a recreational ride around Baltimore, which is sponsored by PPCDC, and numerous other amateur and professional races.
For those not taking part in the races, there will be a Bike Trials and Stunt Show, a Bike and Health Expo, a Kids’ Activities Pavilion, Food and Live Music and a helmet giveaway for the kids.
BikeJam 2008, the Mid-Atlantic’s largest cycling festival, consists of 12 road races for riders from beginner to professional. The one-mile road course has become a favorite among racers. Held in historic Patterson Park near Baltimore’s famed Inner Harbor, the course is flat and fast but contains slight elevation changes and a few turns to add to the excitement.
