There is no question of whether or not the Gaerne Myst is a high quality road shoe. Every stitch, perforation, and bit of material was designed to serve a function, and do it well.

The carbon sole is shaped to optimize stiffness. Instead of a placing a hole in the sole for ventilation, Gaerne has perforated the entire shoe casing with stylish vents. The buckle is lightweight and built to last out of aluminum instead of plastic. The heel cup is shaped to prevent slipping and they believe that it will also reduce the risk of achilles tendonitis. The additional Velcro straps overlay one-way plastic ridges to prevent slipping. The perforated tongue has a thin layer of padding for maximum comfort, circulation, and stability. And the heel grip is shaped out of hard durable rubber for a long life.
