New from Diamondback is the five-inch travel, 26.5-pound Sortie Black trail bike. Diamondback introduced its Knuckle Box suspension platform a few years ago with the six-inch travel Mission, and then scaled down to the four-inch travel Sortie last year. Understanding the need to find a happy medium, Diamondback designed the 2009 Sortie for five inches of travel.
The Sortie is also available in models ranging from $1,550 to $2,650. An upgrade to the Sortie Black includes a Fox 32 Float RLC Air fork, 15mm thru axle, Truvativ NOIR Giga X Pipe crankset, SRAM XO shifters and rear derailleur, Mavic Crossmax SLR wheelset, and a set of Hayes Stroker Gram hydraulic disc brakes.
The Limited Edition Sortie recently finished with production and is expected to be hitting dealers this week.
