Ritchey's "Coffee Bikes" Benefit Rwandan Farmers

Mountain-biking legend Tom Ritchey and his company Ritchey Design, Inc. have partnered with Project Rwanda to develop the “Coffee Bike,” a long-frame mountain bike designed specifically to handle hauling heavy loads. The Coffee Bike will allow Rwandan coffee farmers to speed the delivery of their product to market and increase their earning potential.

It’s our opinion that bicycles can solve the transport problem if a program could make the bikes available to farmers for a reasonable price on credit and where quality premiums would cover the bike’s cost.”
