National champion Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski (Gary Fisher-Subaru) and mountain bike legend Alison Dunlap (Luna) won
the Iceman Cometh cross-country on Saturday in Michigan.
Racers at the late-season event enjoyed warm weather as they attacked the 29-mile fast, flat course. It was 55 degrees at the start of the pro races.
JHK finished 12 seconds ahead of Sam Schultz, who beat out third place’s Brian Matter by one second.
In the women’s race, Dunlap, who is making her return to pro level racing this year at age 40, beat Giant’s Kelli Emmitt in a sprint, with Heather Irmiger coming in just 11 seconds later.
