Now That's Italian: Dainese Does New Freeride Gear

Dainese, the Italian company that specializes in protective clothing for a variety of wheeled sports, is getting the word out for its 2010 cycling lines.

The clothing and protectors, for all categories of cyclist and terrain, are called the Velocity and Freeride-Downhill projects. Velocity being the company’s offerings for the road while the latter offerings will interest riders who huck but still want ergonomic and breathable hard protectors as well as garments in technical fabrics integrated with the latest generation of soft-protectors.

Dainese, pronounced die-neh-zeh, was founded in 1972 and has been in the mountain bike sector since 1992, when it first introduced the back protector and system of integrated protectors in downhill racing. Those products were developed from the company’s experience gained in the motorcycle sector.
