Sebastian Haedo is leaving the Jamis-Sutter Home team (formerly known as Colavita-Sutter Home) to race for a ProTour team next season, the Jamis team announced Monday.

The team did not say what team the Argentine sprinter will join and he could not be immediately reached for comment. His older brother, Juan Jose (“JJ”) races for the Saxo Bank team.

Sebastian Haedo was ranked #2 on the NRC individual men’s rankings in 2009.

“Needless to say, we will miss Seba but recognize that racing in Europe is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Carine Joannou, president of Jamis Bicycles. “We’re pleased that Seba will follow other riders who have raced with our squad and gone on to distinguished careers with ProTour teams.”

The Jamis team recently hired Ivan Dominguez, another top sprinter.
