Over 100 riders started the inaugural Gravel Grovel in Southern Indiana on Nov. 27, and Kenda Pro rider Jake Rytlewski emerged first after 100 kilometers of racing on mostly gravel roads through Hoosier National Forest.

The race started at the Story Inn outside of Nashville, Indiana, near the 1987 Pan-American Games road course.

Rytlewski overcame some early mechanical issues before escaping from a three-man group containing Andy Messer of DRT Racing and Greg Strock of Texas Roadhouse.

Amanda McKay from Bio-Wheels Reece-Campbell  bested Whitney Burdzilauskas from Kenda for the Women’s Open Title.

Thad Hoffman from Moots/Swiftwick out of Nashville, Tennessee, overcame an early deficit from Shawn Wolf, who was riding a fixed gear, to take the Singlespeed Division, followed in by local singlespeed guru Bill Williams.
