One of the biggest (and physically tallest) stars of the newly upgraded BMC ProTour team is of course George Hincapie, and he’s got a big new BMC bike to match his stature.

We got a quick peek at his new training bike, a BMC racemaster SLX01, which is known as the rigid, responsive sprinter’s bike in the BMC lineup. It’s built from a blend of materials in which a core “skeleton” of triple butted aluminum down tube, seat tube, and chainstays are bonded to a carbon head tube, top tube, and seat stays. BMC says that it’s stiffer in the bottom bracket and steeper in geometry than the all-carbon promachine SLC01.

With Easton wheels and a Campagnolo Record group, the bike looks pretty darn race worthy, even if it’s just for training.
