Hanka Kupfernagel (Radsport Rhein-Neckar) and Philipp Walsleben (BKCP-Powerplus) triumphed on Sunday during the German national cyclocross championships in Magstadt.

It was the ninth ’cross crown for Kupfernagel, 34, and her 31st national cycling title. Not even a pair of crashes could keep the four-time world champ from the top step of the podium.

Elisabeth Brandau and Martina Zwick finished second and third, respectively.

In the elite men’s race, Walsleben, the under-23 world champion, easily won ahead of Christoph Pfingsten and Paul Voss.
