Press Release
The Rocky Mountain Bicycle Festival is set for August 7th & 8th, 2010 in Denver, CO at the National Western Complex. This third-year event, formerly known as the Rocky Mountain Bicycle Show, has grown steadily and significantly since it’s inception prompting the name change.
“Calling it a festival better describes what the weekend is all about,” says director Carol Johnson. “The RMBFestival features everything from custom builders, production bikes, components and accessories, to specialty service companies & non-profits together with a wide range of other cycling-related attractions.”
For the 2010 edition, the RMBFestival has added an Indoor/Outdoor Demo – so attendees can test ride their dream bikes, free seminars, a one-of-a-kind Graham Watson photo exhibit, and more.
The Rocky Mountain Bicycle Festival will kick-off the weekend with a party at Boulder Indoor Cycling on Friday night with the return of the Boulder 6. Last year’s event saw Hüdz-Subaru riders Chuck Coyle and Colby Pearce top an international-caliber field including Clark Sheehan and Ryan Sabga after a fast-paced night of European-style track racing.
On Saturday the Festival opens at 10am. Cycling announcer Dave Towle will be on stage interviewing local cycling personalities and surprise guests in “Roll with Towle”. Amidst a collection of exhibitors sure to delight even the most ardent velophile, the RMBFestival adds Bicycle Colorado’s Bike Rodeo, the RMBFestival Kids’ Art Corner, and companies catering to youth cycling for a family-friendly event. Attendees on Sunday will be treated to the First Annual RMBFestival Short-Subject Film Competition, continuation of the free seminars, and the much anticipated RMBFestival Awards. Stunt/trials performances by Ripstoke throughout the weekend add to the non-stop action.
The Rocky Mountain Bicycle Festival celebrates all forms of cycling: road, mountain, triathlon, track, cyclocross, recumbent, cruiser, adaptive bicycles, and everything on two wheels. Attendees can enjoy free samples of local craft-brewed beer again this year, and have the opportunity to cast their vote for their Festival Favorites (awards ceremony Sunday, 3pm).
Exhibitors can register at http://www.RMBFestival.com. Advance tickets will be available for attendees both online and at local Denver businesses starting in July. See us on Facebook, visit the website for more information, or contact Carol@RMBFestival.com with any questions.
