You’ve seen those “toy haulers” being pulled down the road, off to some sort of fully supported epic weekend. Well, for $40 bucks, you could own Pua Sawicki’s race RV and pickup as this year as she’ll be in Europe chasing World Cup points.
And to raise the needed funds for the European campaign, Sawicki is starting a raffle with the prize being her Team Mata Carriage C-Force fifth-wheel toy hauler and Ford F-250.
“After four years of living full-time on the road following the US Pro Tour, I have set my eyes on the 2012 Olympics,” Sawicki said on her Team Mata Web site. “Unfortunately, it is not my performance alone that will give me the opportunity to even have a chance of getting there, it is money.”
Sawicki, a six-time national endurance mountain bike champ, and her husband Ron have used the rig for four years on the national race circuit. But with her eyes set on the London Olympics in 2012, the Elsworth rider needs to accumulate World Cup points, the bulk of which are in races in Europe.
Now that she will be spending more time in Europe and basing out of her home in Yucaipa, California, the RV and Truck is not needed and is a financial burden, she said.
“Because Ron and I have chosen the independent road and times are a little tough, we are having to really think out of the box and do everything we can that will help us get there and this is why our rolling palace could be yours for $40,” she said.
