Roberto Ferrari (De Rosa) won a greatly reduced edition of the GP di Lugano on Sunday.

A wayward motorist drove onto the circuit, causing two riders to crash and nearly the entire field to withdraw, including world champion Cadel Evans (BMC). Only 40 riders continued, and the 142.8km course was shortened by 36km.

In the finale, Ferrari beat Juyre Kocjan (Carmiooro) and Giampaolo Cheula (Footon-Servetto-Fuji) to the line.
