I followed his exploits in an English Cycling newspaper. I just saw, on eBay, the same Watneys jersey that he made famous. I tried to get one then, and couldn't. Now, 49 years later... The Watneys 6-Day team were one of the first to wear colored shorts - green! <br>I would love to talk with Franz about his career. I wanted to visit Ferdi Kubler, in Switzerland, but was told that he is not easy to contact. Anyone recall the bike Franz rode? Kessels? Plume Vaincoeur?
