Along with the recent announcement of SRAM’s mid-level 2×10 drivetrain — X7 — comes two more price-friendly components.

AVID ELIXIR
Intended use: XC/Trail/AM
Weight: 405 grams (Front; Post mount; 160mm)

$105 per brake

The Avid Elixir 3 is the newest brake in the Elixir family and, despite its $105 per-brake MSRP, features Avid’s top-line TaperBore master cylinder and optimized pivot placement.

TaperBore is Avid’s patented hydraulic closure system that allows for lighter lever travel through the stroke of the lever while moving more fluid than a traditional timing port. All that allows greater control of a more powerful brake system.

RockShox’s latest offering is again aiming at an attainable price-point. At a suggested retail price of about $470, the Sektor is a 150mm fork that shares its development with the RockShox Revelation.

At about a pound heavier (4.33 lb) than its cousin, the Revelation, the main difference is that the Sektor’s damping is a little less refined. The Sektor will be offered in 9mm QR, 15×100 or 20×110 Maxle Lite and three spring options; Coil, Solo Air and U-Turn.
