Twenty-two teams will contest April’s Tour of the Battenkill professional invitational in upstate New York. The 124-mile one-day race is one of the most difficult test pieces on the U.S. racing circuit, with approximately 25 percent of the course covering dirt roads. The BMC Racing Team of defending champion Scott Nydam will not take the start in Cambridge, New York, on April 18.

The race joins the UCI America’s Tour in 2010.

Headlining the teams for the 2010 edition are 2009 NRC overall champion Jamis-Sutter Home; Bahati Foundation, whose Bobby Lea spent more than 100 miles in the winning two-man breakaway in 2009; and Fly V Australia, who have shown impressive form early this season. International teams contesting the North American classic include Rapha Condor Sharp (Great Britain) and Spidertech-Planet Energy (Canada).
