A couple of days before the Tour of Flanders, a few ProTour teams pulled into Kortrijk, Belgium, to set up camp and begin preparing for the race. The Lampre and Katusha teams are just a few of the squads using this town as a home base, and we caught a few glimpses of the mechanics pulling out race bikes and getting them ready for action.

Speedster Robbie McEwen is unlikely to factor this week but his Ridley Noah is still on the list for attention by the mechanics.

Chances are good that the bikes will look fairly similar on race day, but both teams were setting up bikes for training and course inspection a full two days before the event. Access to the course is limited on the Saturday before the race due to the cyclosportif citizen’s ride held a course that’s nearly exactly the same as what the professionals face on Sunday.

We didn’t discover any big secrets or wild bike setups being tuned up for the practice rides, but professional bikes are sweet nonetheless. Enjoy the photos and look for more on the morning of the race.
