Jacquelyn Crowell (Team Type 1) and Juan Pablo Dotti (Aerocat Cycling Team) owned the road during Stage 2 of the Tour of America’s Dairyland presented by Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board.
Team Mountain Khakis and Kenda Pro Cycling-Gear Grinder closed down a break in the final laps of the Thiensville Fiddleheads Coffee Criterium, and the stage was set for a fast and furious finish.
Dotti launched on the inside to take the victory ahead of John Grant (Texas Roadhouse) with Isaac Howe (Mountain Khakis) third.
Chad Hartley (Kenda) donned the yellow leader’s jersey.
In the women’s race, Crowell established a strong move and made it stick. Kacey Manderfield (Wolverine Sports) took second while Crowell’s teammate Kori Seehafer rounded out the podium in third.
Manderfield’s runner-up finish was good enough to put her in the overall lead.
The Tour of America’s Dairyland heads to the Giro d Grafton on Saturday before spending Father’s Day in downtown Appleton, Wisconsin.
- Skinny tires weren’t the only rubber on the road in Thiensville. Before the pro men’s race, the Fat Tire Mountain Bike Criterium hit the streets. The field included rain-drenched race director Jack Hirt and course-cutting announcer Brad Sohner. A parade of Harley-Davidson motorcycles then took to the course before the pros got their chance.
