2011 Giro d’Italia will run from Turin to Milan

The 2011 Giro d’Italia will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unity of Italy; it will start on May 7th with a 22km team time trial in Turin, and finish Sunday, May 29, with an individual time trial in Milan, race organizers announced Friday.

While the race started in Amsterdam in 2010 and organizers are negotiating to start the 2012 Giro in Washington, D.C., the 2011 race will start and finish inside Italy. Organizers are expected to announce the complete route in October.
