Andrew Barker, Amy Gray-Smith win time trial at Salida Omnium

Andrew Barker (Holowesko-Felt-Garmin) and Amy Gray-Smith (Pro Design p/b Porsche-Bikesource) won the kickoff to the Salida Omnium on Friday in the Central Colorado town.

Baker covered the eight-mile out-and-back individual time trial in 15:35. Jason Donald (Bahati Foundation) took second in 15:41 with Jonathan Baker (Groove Subaru) third at 15:42.

Gray-Smith claimed the women’s victory in 17:57, with Angela Des Cognets (Primal-Rocky Mountain-Colavita) second in 18:04 and Jennifer Smith third in 18:09.

Saturday riders face a criterium on a flat, one-mile figure-8 course in downtown Salida. The weekend’s action concludes on Sunday with a road race on a 5.7-mile circuit with 500 feet of climbing per lap.

The Salida Omnium is part of the Tour of Colorado series.
