Indeed, the guy is amazing. Back in the '80s there was Marino Lejarreta, a Spanish rider who did all 3 Grand Tours for several years in a row. In some years he would finish in top 10 in at two of them. Amazing.

Yep, Ryder is killing it for sure. I think it's a matter of time before he wins a big one. lets keep our fingers crossed for him for giro de Lombardi, that seems like a good one for him.

Usually the San Sebastian race is run two weeks after the completion of the Tour…sometimes three weeks, but almost always in August. Anyone know why the race was moved up to just a week following Le Tour? Just curious.

a 'well done!' to LLS. along with ryder hesjedal, I've also noticed that nicolas roche is quietly creeping into some high finishes. nice to see him following after his father, but definitely making his own path. it seems there is a great bunch of young new riders. let's hope they can help us to forget some of the sports darker moments.

Another great thing is that the guy never abandons. Screwed up back in the Giro, he just rode it out the best he could. Cracked a rib at the Tour and attacked in the final week. The guy is the Cal Ripken of cycling.

So, Sastre is riding La Vuelta. He's awesome. Originally a domestique, he has been able to put together a very nice career.He should do like Moreau, forget the GC and play for stages and mountain classifications.

I really like this new course, or redesigned route. No team could really controled this race, so the strongest man won. Sorry for Vino. I think his team could have used his victory for motivation after Contador's news.LLS is certainly a fine rider. Well done!

Sastre is a seriously tough SOB. All three grand tours this year. I think he is going for the most grand tours by a single rider record, or something. Doesn't seem like he can win anymore, but you gotta give him props for trying…and trying…and trying.

that these guys' legs are able to race almost 150 miles nary a week after arguably one of the most difficult Tour's in history (well, recent memory at least) says a lot about how fit they are.personally, i'm very pleased to see ryder up there – he's have a cracker of a year.
