Dani Moreno has penned a deal to join the Russian-backed Katusha team for two seasons.
Moreno, 28, was hand-picked by compatriot Joaquim Rodríguez to come to the squad to help him in the high mountains.
Moreno and Rodríguez rode for two seasons together at Caisse d’Epargne in 2008-09 before each chased greener pastures this season. Moreno signed on with Omega-Lotto and was often on the attack in solid performances at both the Giro (26th overall) and the Tour (21st overall).
Last year, Rodríguez went to Katusha with the promise that he would finally get the chance to race the Tour de France, where he won a stage and finished eighth overall.
