Valentin Scherz, Deidre Winfield win 2010 Beacon Cross

Valentin Scherz and Deidre Winfield won the Beacon Cross Saturday in Bridgeton, New Jersey.

Scherz (Cyfac-Champion System) took a closely fought men’s win in round 7 of the MAC Series, hitting the line just seconds ahead of Adam McGrath (Thule-Van Dessel) and Ryan Knapp (BikeReg.com).

Winfield had it a little easier, leading a sweep by C3-Athletes Serving Athletes — she won by nearly a minute over Laura Van Gilder with Arley Kemmerer third.
