For the past 35 Thanksgivings, Marin County cyclists have gathered for the Appetite Seminar, a 20-mile jaunt on iconic Mt. Tamalpais.
In the beginning the rigs ridden were called klunkerz. More than three decades later they’re called mountain bikes. The goal, however, is the same: Be thankful for a sweet ride with friends and then gobble some good grub.
There is little organization to the affair other than the organization of refreshments. But who better than Charlie Kelly to explain what the Appetite Seminar is all about. And for more about the ride and especially more on the lineage of your mountain bike, check out this article from back in the day.
