Post-Thanksgiving 24-hour charity mountain bike ride planned in Southern California

Southern Californian mountain bikers looking to burn off extra Thanksgiving calories will ascend upon the popular Fullerton Loop on Friday for “Le Tour de Tryptophan,” a 24-hour ride benefitting Tyler Blick, a five-year-old battling leukemia.
Tyler’s father, Steve Blick, is the sports marketing manager for Oakley. On July 13, Tyler was diagnosed with leukemia.
Since then, several prominent cycling industry figures have stepped up to raise awareness for Blick’s fight, including Mark Cavendish, who dedicated his final Tour de France stage win on the Champs Elyseses to Tyler. Americans Taylor Phinney and former USA Today cycling writer Sal Ruibal also have been vocal in their support.
Held from noon Friday through noon Saturday, Le Tour de Tryptophan is not a race, but will have a competitive element as riders attempt to outdistance each other’s number of laps completed.
Organizers will sell T-shirts and hooded sweatshirts, with proceeds benefitting the I Ride with Tyler Blick Campaign.
