At the A2 wind tunnel in North Carolina last week, time trial legend Chris Boardman worked with UnitedHealthcare team riders Rory Sutherland and Scott Zwizanski, fine-tuning their aero positions before the season. Sutherland was mounted on a 2010 model Boardman aero bike, while Zwizanski was set up on a prototype 2011 model. During the day, VeloNews chatted with Boardman about bike design in general and the new frame in particular, while photographer Casey B. Gibson shot the new frame and the other Boardman bikes at the tunnel that day.

Update: Zwizanski finishes third at Tour de San Luis time trial on this bike.

The front brake is a linear pull tucked in behind the fork. The rear brake is a centerpull under the chainstays. Boardman said it was important to him to use brakes that can be used on a mountainous time trial.
