Aussies and Kiwis to support Farrar at Tour Down Under

Team Garmin-Cervélo is sending five Australians, one New Zealander and one American — sprinter Tyler Farrar _ to the Tour Down Under. The team also will be directed by an Australian, Matt White.

“I’m excited to kick off my 2011 season at the Tour Down Under,” Farrar said a team release. “It’s a great race and the world’s best will be there competing — I’m proud to be a part of it. We’ll be bringing a strong team to Australia and we’ll be looking at all kinds of opportunities.”

Farrar will be supported by his ace leadout man, Julian Dean of New Zealander. The race also will feature Jack Bobridge, the 2009 U23 world time trial champion and a native of the TDU start city of Adelaide.
