Contador issues statement on suspension, plans news conference

Alberto Contador issued the following statement through his spokesperson Wednesday, after being notified that the Spanish federation had proposed one-year band for a positive doping result at the 2010 Tour de France.
“Alberto Contador has received today a notification of one year ban proposal by the Competition Committee of the Spanish Federation.
