Sastre said he will make a similar early season racing schedule that worked well for him on the road to his 2008 Tour de France victory.
Beyond that, Sastre says he’s still undecided about the reminder of his racing schedule. Although team manager Mauro Gianetti has said that Sastre would race all three grand tours in 2011, Sastre still has not confirmed his season.
“It’s still not decided,” Sastre continued. “Among other things, we don’t know if the team will be invited. I really like the route, but first we have to figure out what calendar we are going to make and later we’ll make a program.”
Sastre and his new Geox teammates will be at a team training camp along Spain’s Mediterranean coast from January 8-15 and he is expected to attend the Vuelta a España presentation next Wednesday in Benidorm.
