Anthony Ravard (AG2R-La Mondiale) claimed overall victory in the Etoile de Bessèges on Sunday.

Said Haddou (Europcar) won the fifth and final stage, a 145km leg between Gagniere and Bessèges. Sven Jodts (Topsport Vlaanderen) took second with Ravard third.

Ravard started the stage tied on time with Johnny Hoogerland (Vacansoleil), then set about finding bonus seconds en route to Bessèges. He took the first intermediate sprint — good for four bonus seconds — and collected three more for finishing third on the day.

All told, it was good enough to put Ravard atop the final podium ahead of Vacansoleil teammates Marco Marcato and Hoogerland.

Stay tuned for an expanded report and results.
