Amateurs with professional hopes take note. The Nature Valley Grand Prix last week announced its 2011 Pro Ride calendar, which offers elites a chance to qualify for the race’s fully supported composite team.
The Nature Valley Pro Ride schedule is completely revamped this season and includes six stops across nearly every region in the nation. Team qualifiers will earn free race entries, travel stipends, team clothing, housing, ground transportation and staff support for the five-day National Racing Calendar stage race in east-central Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for an amateur to receive a ‘battlefield promotion’ to compete with the top professionals,” said executive director David LaPorte. “The Nature Valley Pro Ride gives top U.S. amateurs a chance race in front of huge crowds, to be noticed by pro team managers and potentially to receive a pro contract.”
