Voigt at the Tour last year

Jens Voigt, who missed last year’s Critérium International, will headline the field at the two-day, three-stage French race dubbed the “mini-Tour de France.”

Voigt has won the race five times and will be aiming for a record sixth win as he’s joined by Frank and Andy Schleck of the Leopard Trek team for the 80th edition of the Critérium International, set for March 26-27 on Corsica.

Last year, Voigt was sent to the Volta a Catalunya and didn’t have a chance to try to capture a record sixth win. Voigt is tied with Emile Idée and Raymond Poulidor, who’ve all won five each.

Race officials revealed that 128 riders from 16 teams will line up on the southern part of the island in Porto-Vecchio for the three-stage race that features a climbing stage, a time trial and a road stage. Last year’s winner Pierrick Fédrigo will be back to defend his title.
