Francisco Mancebo wins prologue at Redlands Bicycle Classic

REDLANDS, California (VN) – Francisco Mancebo (Realcyclist.com) showed the U.S. peloton he means business Thursday, topping the Sun Time Trial prologue at the Redlands Bicycle Classic. The Spaniard, a former best young rider at the Tour de France, stopped the clock at 9:39 high above Redlands, California. Bissell’s Ben Jacques-Maynes finished a close second in 9:40, with Chris Baldwin, riding for amateur squad Juwi Solar-First Solar, third.

Bissell landed three riders in the top-10 with Andy Jacques-Maynes and Jeremy Vennell fourth and sixth, respectively.

The four-day National Racing Calendar opener continues Friday with the 120.5-mile Beaumont Circuit Race.
