After seven years racing in Kona’s colors, former national cross-country champion Ryan Trebon is now onboard Felt Bicycles.
Trebon will race the 2011 mountain bike and cyclocross seasons starting with the Sea Otter Classic’s fat tire events in April. Along with the Stars-and-Stripes XC jersey he earned in 2006, and one for short-track XC in 2007, the 30-year-old Californian has two national ‘cross titles from 2006 and 2008.
“I am thrilled to be with Felt this year, and can’t wait for the race season to begin,” Trebon said in a release. “I am already working with Felt’s engineers to fine tune my bikes for 2011, and we are all excited about the results.”
For mountain bike events Trebon will compete on Felt’s Nine carbon-fiber mountain bikes. For the upcoming cyclocross season, he will be aboard Felt’s all-new carbon cyclocross bike, which will be unveiled at the Sea Otter.
“Ryan is a great fit for our company and our cyclocross and mountain bike racing efforts,” said Doug Martin, director of marketing for Felt Bicycles. “Ryan is one of the most recognizable figures in American fat-tire racing and a legend in the sport. We are ecstatic to have him as one of our athletes.”
Trebon has raced as a professional since 2004. Including his national titles, he’s collected four overall wins at the U.S. Gran Prix of Cyclocross.
