The 2011 Paris-Roubaix contains 51.5km of cobbles spread out over 27 sectors. The first comes 98km into the race and the final sector is at the entrance to the Roubaix velodrome.

After checking out the route on Monday, race organizers Christian Prudhomme and Jean-François Pescheux assigned a rating of difficulty to each of the sectors in the race, depending on their length, the bumpiness of the surface, the general condition of the section and its location.

This year, two sectors are returning to the race after an absence of several years: the Aulnoy-lez- Valenciennes sector and Famars. The race also includes a 1,400-meter sector in Millonfosse sector that has never been used before.
