The Singletrack.com/Justin’s Nut Butter duo saw a serious mishap on Stage 5, when Mike Hogan went down and busted a rib. Thomas Dooley had to ride without Hogan on Stage 6, however Hogan was able to ride the final stage on Sunday.

“He did pretty well given his cracked rib,” Dooley said about his teammate. “We’re all done!”

As for the solo stage 6, Dooley said the duo would have been ninth on the stage.

“That makes at least four stages in the top 10 of the Masters division and a third place podium in the prologue,” Dooley said. “Sad that Mike couldn’t do all the stages — not his fault.”

Dooley said Sunday was a solid ride to the finish in Lourensford in Somerset West near Cape Town.

“We could see the ocean as we came over the pass,” Dooley said. “Amazing.”
