Specialized launched its aero road bike, the Venge, the day before Milan-San Remo. The next day Matt Goss rode the new model to victory in La Primavera. With the initial buzz now dying down a bit and production ramping up, more HTC-Highroad riders are receiving Venges of their own. Tejay Van Garderen is among them.

When asked about members of the media naming him an Amgen Tour of California favorite, Van Garderen replied: “I would put myself as one of the favorites too. That’s definitely the goal. The goal could either be to do well or to win and I’m going to try to win.”

Specialized surely hopes that their Venge can help carry him to that victory.
