The tenth Teva Mountain Games start, uh, today, but the meaty action rolls through June 5 in Vail, Colorado.

Along with a bunch of other events — road racing, slopestyle, trail running, kayaking, climbing and more — there is an elite mountain bike race on Saturday. In the 2010 cross-country event, Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski won the men’s race (as he did in 2009). Last year the women’s winner was Georgia Gould, with 2009 winner Katie Compton coming in second. First place in the pro men’s and women’s fields nets $3,000 each.
