Quick Look: Andy Schleck’s Trek Madone 6 series SSL

  • Andy Schleck rides a 58cm Trek Madone 6 series SSL. Will he ride it to the top step of this year's TdF podium?
  • Both Andy and Frank Schleck, as well as Fabian Cancellara, have custom paint jobs for this year's Tour.
  • His 140mm stem is slammed on top of his custom painted headset cap. He uses a Bontrager computer to keep tabs on his speed and cadence.
  • In this photo you can see not only Schleck's Ultremo HT 23mm tubular but also the very flat sides and rounded leading edge of Bontrager's new Aeolus 3.0.
  • "I forgive, but I don't forget." That's what Andy said to Contador after the Spaniard's chaingate attack. A K-Edge should help avoid that situation this year.
  • Bontrager has released its latest Inform saddles to the public. The Team Issue is based off of an older Bontrager model that both Andy and his teammate Fabian Cancellara liked. Andy's seat height is 77.5 cm.
  • The Schleck brothers are extremely proud of their home country and Trek included a cool emblem with royal overtones in Andy's custom paint job.
  • The younger Schleck runs a 140mm stem and a 42cm handlebar. Reach from his saddle nose to the center of his handlebar is a lengthy 63cm. He's also running Shimano's accessory shifter recently.
  • The Aeolus 3.0 features the same wide rim and rounded profile as the new 5.0 but in a 35mm depth.
