WARSAW (AFP) — Peter Sagan (Liquigas-Cannondale) won the 68th Tour of Poland on Saturday after finishing second on the final stage.
Marcel Kittel (Skil-Shimano) sprinted to victory in the 128km seventh stage, collecting his fourth win of the race.
Overnight leader and defending champion Daniel Martin (Garmin-Cervélo) slipped to second overall after finishing 25th in the finale.
“This is one of the greatest successes of my career,” Sagan told the PAP news agency. “I had doubts over whether or not I would be able to get back the yellow jersey that I lost yesterday.
“For me, the race was training for the Tour of Spain — but to win it, that’s not too bad.”
