Could Levi Leipheimer be headed to the new Omega Pharma-Quick-Step fusion for next season?

According to a report in the Belgian daily Het Nieuwsblad, team boss Patrick Lefevere has been in talks with Leipheimer. Quick Step spokesman Alessandro Tegner would only confirm that “we are talking to several riders.”

RadioShack boss Johan Bruyneel confirmed that a deal to keep the 38 year old in The Shack is not finalized.

“We haven’t decided yet,” Bruyneel said about Leipheimer. “We are still talking.”

Bruyneel said the core of RadioShack remains in place, with Jani Brajkovic, Andreas Kloden and Chris Horner all confirmed for next season.

“The core of the team stays the same,” Bruyneel said. “There will not be a lot of change.”
