LAS VEGAS, Nev. (VN) – Club Lavo in the Palazzo Hotel was the place to be Tuesday night at InterBike as VeloPress and the industry tradeshow hosted a 30th anniversary party and launch event for the new book chronicling the reign of the 7-Eleven team in the 1980s.
The crowd at Lavo was as diverse as they come at a nightclub on the strip with Team 7-Eleven co-authors Jim Ochowicz and Geoff Drake hosting a group of 1980s cycling stars on one side of a velvet rope while 20-somethings danced to a top-40 DJ on the other.
Ron Kiefel, Tom Schuler and Danny Van Haute were among the faces at the party from the first U.S. team to make inroads in Europe.
Standing room-only would be an understatement as partygoers rubbed shoulders in what felt like an at-capacity room. The just-released book is available for purchase through VeloPress.com or at your local bookseller.
