The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announced Wednesday that it has provisionally suspended banned Australian cyclist Deon Locke after a positive doping test in October.
The ban will remain in effect until the Australian cycling federation rules on whether the former Champion System rider had indeed flouted anti-doping rules. Locke also has the right to ask that his B sample be tested.
The World Anti-Doping Agency-accredited lab in Beijing reported that Locke tested positive for the appetite suppressant phentermine on October 23 during the Tour of Hainan, according to the UCI.
