Matt Lloyd has landed with Lampre for next season after a rough year that saw him kicked off the Lotto team, while German rider Stefan Schumacher will join up with Michael Rasmussen at Christina Watches.

Lloyd missed most of the 2011 season, first after he suffered a brutal crash at the end of 2010 and then for getting forced off the Omega Pharma-Lotto team for “behavioral problems.”

With the move to Lampre-ISD, team officials say he will have the chance to help the team’s GC leaders, such as Damiano Cunego, as well as take his own chances.

A winner of the best climber’s jersey at the 2010 Giro d’Italia, Lloyd will reunite with sport director Roberto Damiani, who joined Lampre last year after leaving Lotto.

“I know Matthew very well, we had a lot of shared experiences in Belgium and I am happy to be back again,” Damiani said. “Lloyd will be very motivated to give his maximum.”

The Danish paper Ekstra Bladet is reporting that Schumacher has landed on Christina Watches-Onfone team next season.

The German rider raced for Miche since coming back from his two-year ban when tested positive for CERA-EPO during the 2008 Tour de France, where he won two time trials.

Schumacher won two stages at the Vuelta a Asturias and two stages at the Azerbaijan Tour this season.

At Christina Watches, Schumacher will join up with Michael Rasmussen.
