UCI OKs RadioShack-Nissan-Trek, GreenEdge for 2012 WorldTour

The UCI License Commission has approved the registration of the RadioShack-Nissan-Trek team and granted a WorldTour license to GreenEdge Cycling Team, the world governing body announced on Monday.

RadioShack-Nissan’s registration was approved for the 2012 season. The GreenEdge license is good for 2012-13.

On November 21 the UCI announced that it had approved Ag2r-La Mondiale, Euskatlel-Euskadi and FdJ for participation in the WorldTour but was waiting for “additional documents” from RadioShack-Nissan and GreenEdge.

The decision brings to 18 the number of WorldTour teams.

The list of Professional Continental teams for 2012 will be announced on December 12.
