Specialized Bicycles has issued a voluntary recall of their 2012 Tricross Sport and Tricross Comp forks. The bikes were sold at Specialized dealers nationwide from June 2011 through November 2011. The forks stand the risk of the brake boss inside the carbon fork separating from the fork leg allowing the brake to get tangled in the wheel.

Forks bearing the gold hologram sticker on the underside of the fork crown are not affected by this recall. Owners of this model bike, without the gold hologram sticker, should cease to ride it until returning the bike to a Specialized dealer for a free repair or fork replacement. If consumers have any other questions in regard to their 2012 Tricross Sport and Tricross Comp bicycles contact Specialized at (877) 808-8154 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Pacific time.

Logan VonBokel

Equally at home on a mountain bike above treeline and chasing down moves in the heat and humidity of a Midwest criterium, Logan Vonbokel is something of an oddity in cycling. Since he first swung a leg over a road bike as a freshman in high school, Logan has been a lover of both cutting-edge technological innovations and the clean lines of classic handmade bikes. Logan joined the tech team in May 2012, bringing with him nearly a decade of high-caliber road racing experience and his undying love for the mud, cowbells, and culture of cyclocross. Logan still races at the Cat. 2 level on the road and in cyclocross, and carries a seldom-used Cat. 1 mountain bike license.
