LONDON, Feb 17, 2012 (AFP) – Great Britain set a new world record in the women’s team pursuit at the World Cup meeting here on Friday, just moments after Australia had set a new mark of their own.

Joanna Rowsell, Dani King and Laura Trott clocked 3min 18.148sec in the final against Canada to clinch victory.

Australia had briefly held the record when they timed 3min 19.164sec in the bronze medal ride-off against the Netherlands.
