Fabian Cancellara had the winning performance in Tuesday's individual time trial, the final stage of the 2012 Tirreno-Adriatico in San Benedetto del Tronto.

Cancellara won the pancake-flat time trial in 10:36, 12 seconds up on Daniele Bennati, in second place.

2012 Tirreno-Adriatico winner Vincenzo Nibali time trialing to the GC win. Nibali gained a six-second time bonus for his second place finish in stage six.

Chris Horner wore the leader's jersey heading into the final stage, six seconds up on Italian Vincenzo Nibali. The Italian closed that gap down on Tuesday's final stage, time trialing to a 14-second lead. Horner said he was pleased with his second place and feels it was a strong comeback.

Daniele Bennati posted the second fastest time in the individual time trial, 12 seconds behind Fabian Cancellara.

GreenEdge rider Cameron Meyer was third in the final stage of the 2012 Tirreno-Adriatico. His effort got him a top-10 result in the final GC.
