The Dutch Pro Continental squad, Project 1t4i, announced a three-year sponsorship deal with North Sea Group Argos Friday in Rotterdam. The former Skil-Shimano squad has made a name for itself competing against more established and better financed teams in the professional peloton, thanks in large part to German sprinter Marcel Kittel, who claimed an impressive 17 victories last season. He won stage 2 of the Three Days of De Panne on Wednesday to claim his fourth win of the season.

Iwan Spekenbrink, managing director and owner of the team, said that despite the change of name, the squad’s core values remained the same.

“We find it very important that Argos wholeheartedly underwrites our team’s core values: Team spirit (1t), Inspiration, Integrity, Improvement and Innovation (4i’s).”

Argos North Sea Group (Argos) said it had sponsored the team, which becomes Team Argos-Shimano, “to enhance the realization of its European growth ambitions.”

Riders will don the team’s new jersey for the first time at the Tour of Flanders on Sunday.
