PARIS, France (AFP) — Paris-Nice organizer Amaury Sport Organization announced Monday that the “Race to the Sun” will start in France’s Yvelines department until 2017. Last week’s 70th edition opened in Dampierre-en-Yvelines and an extended partnership will see the event continue in the region west of Paris.

“The last three editions of Paris-Nice, in Montfort l’Amaury (2010), Houdan (2011) and Dampierre-en-Yvelines (2012) have enjoyed so much success,” said Yvelines president Alain Schmitz.

Yvelines will also host the start of the final stage of the Tour de France, in Rambouillet, in July.
